Production Process of FRP Tank

Filament Wound, Contact Molded, Hand Lay-Up, Spray-Up

FRP tanks can be manufactured by multiple advanced processes to meet different design, size, and application requirements.

Each method is performed under controlled conditions to ensure consistent quality and long-service durability.

Filament Winding Process

      FRP tanks are produced by winding continuous fiberglass roving that is soaked in resin around a revolving mandrel.

      Fiber orientation and feeding are precisely controlled by an automated system to ensure uniform laminate structure and consistent quality.

The Structure of Tank

      The laminate construction of tank consists of 3 layers.

WINDING

Fiberglass roving is wound on the mandrel with controlled angles.

CURING

The laminate is cured to achieve required strength and integrity.

EXTRACTING

The cured tank is removed from the mandrel.

CUTTING

Ends and openings are cut to specified size and configuration.

INSPECTION

Components are inspected for quality and dimensional accuracy.

Contact Molded / Hand Lay-Up Method

      In this method, reinforcement (fiberglass) is placed into a contact mold and impregnated with resin by hand lay-up.

      The laminate is consolidated to remove air and ensure proper wet-out, forming a strong and durable FRP structure.

FRP Storage Tank
